Bering Air operates regular flights to the village of Savoonga.

Location: On the northern coast of St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea, 164 miles west of Nome.

Climate:Sub arctic climate with some inland influences during the winter. Summer temperatures range from 40 to 51 degrees F. Winter temperatures range from -7 to 11 degrees. Temperatures below -20 degrees F are unusual, though the island is subject to a prevailing winds of 12 to 23 miles per hour.

Visitor Facilities: Visitors can stay at the City Hall with prior arrangements.  There is a kitchen and showers available at this building.  There are two local stores, The Savoonga Native Store is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Savoonga Gift and Snack Shop is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
