Bering Air operates daily passenger and cargo flights to the village of St. Michael.

Location: On St. Michael Island, 125 miles southeast of Nome, roughly 48 miles southwest of Unalakleet

Climate:
Subarctic, growing maritime with thaw of sea ice, inland climate during wintertime when Norton Sound freezes over, annual precipitation of roughly 12 inches. Annual snowfall around 40 inches, winter temperatures averaging -5 degrees to the mid-teens, F. Summer temperatures averaging 40-60 degrees F.

Things to do: Go on a guided fishing trip or mushing trip.

Visitor Facilities: No hotels, restaurants. The St. Michael IRA has 2 apartments available with full kitchens (907)923-2405. Arrangements for rooms may occasionally be made by contacting the local school. Washeteria is available. No banking services.
